What Would Barbie Look Like with Real-Woman Proportions? | Women's Health Magazine

NICKOLAYLAMM.COM
Life in plastic might be fantastic for Barbie, but it's not realistic: It's widely known that the doll's proportions are ridiculously unachievable for real people (though this woman is, sadly, trying to look just like her).
Enter Lammily, the fashion doll with the tagline "Average Is Beautiful."
Last year, graphic designer Nickolay Lamm rendered a 3-D model of "Normal Barbie" using the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's measurements of the average 19-year-old American woman. The images got everyone talking (in a good way).
Now, Lamm has launched a crowd-funding project to make a proportional doll available to consumers. As we went to print, backers had already donated $144,453, with 29 days left (the fundraising goal was only $95,000). If you want to get in on the action—and receive an exclusive first edition Lammily later this year—visit the crowd-funding site here.
