What team will win the 2014 World Series? Baseball season up and in the swing of things and with springtime, hope is eternal. But only one team can take home the trophy at the end of the season. Last year, against many prognosticators' expectations, the Boston Red Sox climbed from the AL East cellar to champions. Can another team take a leap of faith like that or will it be favored teams like the Los Angeles Dodgers, St. Louis Cardinals or Detroit Tigers? Will those pesky Tampa Bay Rays and Oakland A's continue to battle against budgetary constraints and make the playoffs? No matter what team you root for, you can be assured that this baseball season is pretty wide open and there will be a handful of teams that will surprise you with their performance over the course of this 162 game season.
As usual, you'd expect the teams with the best players in baseball to at minimum to be in the conversation. Either way, 12 teams make the playoffs, while 18 don't. What will be the last team standing? There are plenty of solid options out there, so vote accordingly.
