Saturday's game has the best combined ranking of the teams in the AP poll, topping the 1964 game, in which No. 8 Alabama defeated No. 7 Ole Miss 12-7. In their other ranked meetings, No. 15 Alabama defeated No. 20 Ole Miss 33-32 in 1969, No. 11 Alabama defeated No. 22 Ole Miss 30-24 in 1999, No. 24 Alabama defeated No. 21 Ole Miss 42-7 in 2002, No. 3 Alabama defeated No. 16 Ole Miss 22-3 in 2009 and No. 1 Alabama defeated No. 21 Ole Miss 25-0 in 2013.
